Confirmation

Home  /  Confirmation

Confirmation one of the three sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church, the other two being Baptism and First Holy Communion. According to Catholic doctrine, in the sacrament of Confirmation, the faithful are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit and are strengthened in their Christian life.

Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world.  . . .  We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.

Our High School Confirmation Program is designed to engage ages 14 to 18 in conversations about life, serving others, living out their faith and getting to know Jesus.

  • Fall sessions will present the “Alpha Youth” series, offering compelling stories, images, questions, and discussion topics that help prepare youth to better engage within the parish and their communities as they step into their role as fully participating members of our faith community.
  • Lenten sessions will provide a variety faith experiences, including Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration, Passover Seder Meal in order to bring alive the faith for our Confirmandi and their families.
  • Youth experience what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in very tangible ways by giving time in service to the parish and local community, serving those in need or hungry and participating in liturgical and parish events. 20 hours of service are required. Special events will include Mass participation and service to our parish and community.
